A brief history of Lenovo ThinkPad X300
Why develop it?
The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 was developed in 2008, during the era of nanorexic laptops and netbooks. It was designed to rival the MacBook Air and distinguish itself as the world thinnest, lightest laptop.
What is it?
The X300 is an ultra-portable notebook which uses LED backlighting, has a removable battery, a solid state drive, GSPm WWAN, a built in webcam and an integrated DVD burner.
Why is it so special?
The Lenovo X300 was revered as one of the lightest and thinnest notebook upon its release a year ago. It weighs a tiny 1.42kg and measures just 2.34cm at its thinnest point. It has since been upgraded in the form of the X301 which measures just 19mm at its thinnest point and uses a more powerful processor.
The X300 is where ultra-portables started for Lenovo, which is was really makes it special.
Who is it for?
The ThinkPad X301 is recommended for frequent travellers who are looking for an ultraportable laptop that does not compromise on its performance.
