Asus launch their Eee Pad Transformer

Asus launch their Eee Pad Transformer

Asus this week announced that they would start shipping the first units of their Asus Eee Pad Transformer, their new tablet. The Transformer will feature a dockable keyboard and runs on the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer prides itself on its battery life: A secondary battery can boost the tablet’s battery life to up to 16 hours, and without it, the Transformer will run for about nine hours.

Thanks to its NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, browsing is expected to be a breeze with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, and its IPS panel allows the 10.1 inch display to be viewed at angles of up to 178 degrees. Its SRS Sound technology and the discrete but powerful speakers round off an impressive entertainment potential.

The Transformer comes equipped with two web cams, and users have the option of adding a keyboard docking station which, when attached, turns the tablet into a notebook with a traditional keypad.

ASUS Eee Pad EP101TC Tablet chooses Android over Windows

The latest new to come out about the ASUS Eee Pad is that it may well be dropping its initial Microsoft Windows OS in exchange for Google’s Android 3.0.

It is being said that Google’s Android 3.0 is a more suitable OS for a mobile devices such as the ASUS Eee Pad. Asus has therefore announced that it would switch over to Android 3.0 open source software and hoping to finalise development of the tablet next year.

Ever the eco-friendly computer manufacturer, ASUS has released the ultra-slim Designo Series, a full line-up of 20-24 inch power saving LED monitors.

The displays have 10,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio technology which delivers sharp images in Full HD 1080p.

The mercury-free LED-backlit panels save users up to 45 per cent in power compared to similar LCD monitors; this is equal to 37.2kWh and 23.6kg of CO2 annually.
