Dell ranked as a top green IT vendor by Newsweek
Newsweek has placed Dell at the top of its Greenest Companies in America 2010. This has been based on Dell’s environmental performance, policies and reputation.
It follows after a year in which Dell says that it has focussed efforts on improving to green the company’s supply chain, operations products and solutions. Innovations in recent times include transferring all packaging to bamboo based material – a far greener and more sustainable form of packaging.
“This ranking is the result of a long-standing commitment that remains at the heart of Dell and the work we do in service of our customers,” said CEO Michael Dell.

These benefits come from the fact that Dell’s ultra-efficient blades can use as much as 20 percent less power per blade server than any identically-configured competitive systems.
