Microsoft warns against scams using company name
Microsoft has issued a warning against scams that use the companies name to steal your personal information and your money!
Common scams Microsoft it warning against, include “You have won the Microsoft Lottery”, “Microsoft ‘requires credit card information to validate your copy of Windows’”, “Microsoft send unsolicited e-mail messages with attached security updates” and “Someone from ‘Microsoft Tech Support’ calls to fix your computer.
The company warns that none of these messages are genuine and are to be treated with extreme caution. If you think you might be a victim of fraud, you can report it.

Microsoft releases new MSN Games Channel
Microsoft has just unveiled its new Games Channel on the MSN portal, one aimed at both casual gamers and hardware enthusiasts.
As a spin off of its current tech and gadgets channel, the MSN Games Channel will focus on the latest games releases including the likes of Grand Theft Auto, Halo, Guitar Hero, Mario Kart and The Sims.
Iain Lee, a gaming world celebrity has been brought on board to produce a monthly podcast for the MSN Games Channel exclusively.

Hohm scores let you rank energy use
Microsoft has rolled out a new service to let homeowners see how much energy their household uses.
The free service on Microsoft Hohm estimates average energy use and users can enter their postcode to see how they compare.
In an official statement Troy Batterberry, general manager for Hohm, he said: “The big deal here is that we built the Hohm Score to answer a simple question: Am I an energy hog or an energy miser?”.
