If you’re going to be using the internet, word processing programs and streaming content of sites like BBC iPlayer then you might just want a small netbook or all-in-one desktop. If you want to play computer games then you’ll need a faster machine with better graphics.
What do I need to know about technology?
RAM stands for Random Access Memory and, generally the more RAM the faster your computer works and the more tasks it can handle at once.

Dell has just announced the release of the Inspiron M101z in the UK with its AMD Athlon II Neo processor and integrated ATI graphics.

Dell gives high performance computing power to Cambridge University
The Dell Cambridge High Performance Computing (HPC) Solution Centre was opened this month and is designed to give its researchers high performance computing power.
A spokesperson from Dell said:
“As a long-term Dell customer, the University has built a reputation for excellence and understanding in developing real-world, production-ready HPC solutions that can be used within a wide-range of private and public sector research environments, with a significant emphasis on commodity clustered HPC solutions.”

Dell acquires storage technology company Ocarina Networks
California-based technology storage technology manufacturers Ocarina have been bought by Dell for and undisclosed sum, it was revealed last week .
Brad Anderson, Dell senior vice president, Enterprise Product Group, said:
