iPad to be released in the UK at the end of April!

Rosie Khdir keeps you updated with all the latest iPad developments. The very latest news is that this most coveted of gadgets will be available in the UK this April!

If you haven’t already, start saving your pennies Apple fans, the iPad is coming to a store near you very soon!

Apple Inc. has announced the official release date for the Wi-Fi model as Saturday 3rd April for US customers and the Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available for purchase later in the month.

Customers in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland will be able to buy the multi-touch tablet in late April.

As of Friday 12th March US customers can pre-order both models from the official Apple website or in any Apple retail store.

Prices range from at just $499 for the 16Gb model up to $829 for 64Gb. International pricing will be announced in April.

Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc. said:

“We’re excited for customers to get their hands on this magical and revolutionary product and connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before”.

    Thanks for your comment! I think the iPad has a lot to offer; it is sleek and simple to use which is Apple’s forte I believe.

    I will be interested to see what people will actually use it for, whether it will be more of a netbook, e-reader or just a general multimedia player.

    It is also interesting to see how it differs from the HP Slate, I do think it has some serious competition there!
