Norton finds kids blame themselves for online mistakes
A new report by Norton has found that young children often feel individually responsible for undesirable experiences on the Internet
The yearly Norton Online Family Report discovered that a lot of children who come across offensive online behaviour such as violence, online scams or pornography, turn off their computers feeling distressed and anxious, whilst blaming themselves.
62% of children worldwide have experienced an undesirable encounter on the Internet according to the report, with more and more kids spending an ever increasing amount of time online.
Parents meanwhile continue to display quite high levels of misunderstanding, when it comes awareness of their child’s online behaviour; many parents focus on restricting access to adult material instead of paying attention to how much children download games, music and videos.
