All change with Acer Aspire One netbook line
Acer has revamped its popular Aspire One netbook line with two new models and two updated models.
New models: Acer Aspire One AOD260 and Aspire One AO533
The AOD260 comes with the Intel® Atom™ N450 processor, Wi-Fi CERTIFIED® network connection and Ethernet LAN. It has a 10.1-inch CrystalBrite™ LED display, webcam and digital microphone.
The AO533 (pictured in red) uses the slightly more powerful Intel® Atom™ N475 processor and Acer claims that with the 6-cell Li-ion battery you’ll get 8 hours charge. It comes with a 10.1-inch LED-backlit display, 1Gb of DDR3 RAM and a 250Gb hard drive.
Both come with 802.11b/g/n wireless support, Ethernet LAN port, a 93 per cent keyboard and multitouch keypad.
Suggested retail price is $298.00, so expect British prices to be £200 plus for the AOD260, while the AO533 is selling for $329.99 so expect British prices of around $225 plus.
They’ll weigh in at approx 1.3kg and come in red, black or white with a chrome trim.
Updated models: Aspire One AO721 and Aspire One AO521
The Aspire One AO721 and Aspire One AO521 have both been fitted with an AMD Athlon II Neo K125 processor and ATI Radeon™ HD 4225 Graphics with 384Mb dedicated memory.
The AO721 comes with 2Gb of DDR3 memory and up to a 250Gb internal hard drive running Windows 7 home premium. It still has the same 11.6-inch CrystalBrite™ LED backlit display. Suggested pricing is $429.99, approximately £290 British pounds.
The Aspire One AO521 has been tweaked with a HD 10.1-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display, 1Gb of DDR3 memory and up to 250Gb internal hard drive, running Windows 7 Starter. Suggested pricing is $349.99, approximately £240 British pounds.
Both are just under an inch thick and weigh just less than 1.3kg, with multi-gesture touch pad, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN connectivity and HDMI.
