Apple Mac OS X Lion will be released via new MacBook Air
The much-anticipated Mac operating system Lion will see an official release via new Mac computers, according to reports.
The release of the new MacBook Air has been held back to coincide with the finishing touches being appleid to the Mac OS X Lion. Rumours circulating in the Apple blogosphere give credence to the theory that the Sandy-Bridge-powered Mac Minis, as well as the new iPhone and iPod won’t be released until the iOS 5 (which ties in heavily with the recently introduced iCloud) is ready to go.
The OS X Lion will be available from next month onwards, and will be download-only. Features of the Lion include an increased multitouch inegration, full-screen applications, and a resume features that allows the user to start out exactly with the applications they had running when they shut the computer down.
The rumours around the new Mac Mini and Mac Pro computers, as well as the new MacBook Air are still pretty vague, but it makes sense for Apple to time the release of new devices with the unveiling of their new operating system. Keep checking PC-Site for the latest Apple news.
