iPad 2 launches in the UK today amidst worries about stock
The Apple iPad 2, 2011′s most keenly awaited gadget, became available for online pre-oders at midnight and will be in UK stores this afternoon.
But those who got their order in via the web might have to wait a bit for their precious iPad 2s to be delivered, as the rush on the tablets is expected to be so massive as to put pressure on Apple’s stock of the product.
As has become the norm for new Apple gadgets, queues started forming yesterday outside London shops that will have the iPad 2 in store. Waiting times for online pre-orders went through the roof in the US after the launch there, as Apple fans were so eager to get their clammy hands on the iPad 2 that they all but cleared out the storage rooms.
The iPad 2 goes on sale at 5pm in Apple Stores today, and will be available in a few other retailers, such as – Currys and PC World. Some mobile phone network stores will have the 3G version in stock.
