Ryan Leslie offers MacBook reward, doesn’t pay it, gets sued
We know that people love their Apple products, but 1m USD seemed like a bit much to be offered as a reward for a MacBook – until you consider that its owner, the R&B singer and producer Ryan Leslie, had stored his entire new album on there.
So when he lost it last year while in Germany, it seemed like a fair offer: $1m for the return of his MacBook (and the hard drive which contained the music). After all, Leslie’s a multi-million-record-sales kinda guy, with thousands of fans hanging on his every word on Twitter and a Grammy nomination (2011 Best Contemporary R&B Album) to his name.
Now, however, the guy who found and returned the precious Apple device to Leslie is suing the latter after claiming to have gone without the promised reward. Armin Augsteinhas filed a suit in New York’s District Court over in the US, according to the Daily News.
The MacBook was allegedly stolen from the back of a Mercedes while Leslie was in Cologne. Augstein said he found the laptop while walking his dog in a park in nearby Stommelerbusch.
Let’s hope for Leslie’s sake that his upcoming album ‘Les’ turns out to be the seller, otherwise this could turn out to be the priciest MacBook ever.
