The Eee Pad Slider: ASUS’ new Android tablet, not a mini hamburger

ASUS yesterday announced the launch of their new Google Android Tablet, the Eee Pad Slider.
The Eee Pad Slider’s USP is a slide-able keyboard, temporarily transforming the tablet into a netbook of sorts. The Eee Pad Transformer was a fantastic tablet which had a dockable keyboard feature and a NVIDIA Tegra dual core processor. The Eee Pad Slider continues in a similar vein, with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor now in charge of performance and a Corning Gorilla glass protector for the screen.
Flash will be enabled on this bad boy – none of the to and fro that iPad users have had to go through – and there are two very powerful cameras installed. The rear-facing one has 5MP, the front-facing one 1.2MP, which will be very useful for shooting small videos and conducting video conferences.
We at PC Site really liked the Eee Pad Transformer, so it’ll be interesting to see whether the Eee Pad Slider will have a similar impact.
The ASUS Eee Pad Slider will be on sale from PC World and Currys from 24th October onwards.
