New Dell Vostro V131 launched
Dell introduced a new addition to their Vostro laptop range late last week. The Dell Vostro V131 is an ultra-thin laptop aimed at small businesses on the search for a lightweight device for on-the-go work.
The Vostro laptop range has a new member, and what a shiny, skinny thing it is. The 13.3 inch Dell Vostro V131 features the trademark dark stripe at the top of the lid and the usual Intel Core i3/i5 options, but the real kicker here is the lack of fat: at only 0.83 inches (at the back, where the battery sits) the V131 operates on similar hunting ground to the MacBook Air.
“We designed the Vostro V131 to deliver fast, uninterrupted multitasking for today’s business challenges,” said Sam Burd, vice president of Dell’s Consumer & SMB Product Group. “The result is a feature-rich laptop for mobile professionals who want full performance to support their technology demands without sacrificing design and portability.”
Translated into actual features, this apparently means WLAN and Bluetooth 3.0 support, a fingerprint reader and built-in Skype to go with the microphone and HD webcam.
The keyboard looks very well-designed, too, with its coloured alternative symbols and widely spaced keys.
The Dell Vostro V131 is available now from the Dell Online store, starting at £359.
