Grab-a-Tab
With HP’s shocking price drop to just £89 in the UK and $99 in the US, online retailers have struggled to cope with the high demand for the HP TouchPad. As the cheapest tablet currently on the market, dropping from the lofty iPad 2 heights of near about £350 this is a true bargain, but stocks willing, will it be worth purchasing?
HP are well and truly cutting and running on this one. The tablet will see no further official updates: once the accessories run out there’ll be no more produced, and it’s not looking likely that your guarantee will warrant a new device should yours break. Nevertheless the HP Touchpad is a highly rated tablet, and although HP won’t be developing it any further I’m sure there’ll be some tinkerers out there to breathe a little more life into a tablet that was scrapped in its prime. If the only reason you don’t have a tablet to date is because you feel that they’re a waste of money little too dear then this is certainly one of your best chances to get a quality product on the cheap. The HP TouchPad would make for an excellent quick web browser, for use out of the house, or to entertain the kids in the back of the car.
