HP stars in Sex and City 2
The sensational Sex and the City sequel will be hitting cinemas next week and we are all looking forward to seeing what labels will be worn. One that surprisingly makes an appearance or two is HP – Rosie Khdir explains.
All Sex and the City fans are all familiar with Carrie’s relationship with her labels, from her Jimmy Choos and Manolo Blahnik stilettos, Dior and Oscar de la Renta dresses to her Fendi bags. Such designer names are bound to make an appearance in the movie sequel…all but one, that is.
Carrie has one accessory in her life that has made an appearance in almost every episode, her Apple Mac. In the new movie however, there won’t be any fruity PC’s in sight, thanks to a partnership with Hewlett-Packard.
HP has decided to collaborate with the movie to advertise it new “2010 spring collection” of PCs which includes the HP TouchSmart 600 PC, the TouchSmart tm2, the HP Envy 15 and of course the beautiful HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition.
PCs from this collection are featured throughout the film, as you can see in the picture above, in Samantha’s office and Sarah Jessica Parker aka Carrie Bradshaw has even starred as the “achiever” in HP’s next “PC is Personal Again” advert.
The ad features the actress /producer as herself in various roles, from mother, to actress, to designer to movie producer, all with the help of an HP PC.
Tracey Trachta, executive director, Global Marketing, Personal Systems Group, HP said:
“HP is increasingly recognised as a brand synonymous with breakthrough style and design. As a trend-setting phenomenon, ‘Sex and the City 2’ is a natural extension to celebrate fashion and our stylish spring 2010 collection of computers with people worldwide.”
Some Apple lovers, and of course nostalgic Sex and the City fans will not be too happy about the change. Carrie went through a lot with her laptop; her email exchanges on it helped her get Aidan back, she wrote every one of her columns and books on it – it was her virtual diary.
However, technology and fashion are always about thinking ahead, and with many fashionable achievements under its belt, HP is sure to impress, tech, fashion and Carrie lovers alike.
The movie is out in cinemas on 28th May 2010.
