Samsung has finally released the Galaxy Tab, the latest rival to Apple’s iPad
Rosie Khdir takes a look at the latest tablet device to hit the market, the one that looks set to send iPad users running back to the Apple shop for a refund – introducing the Samsung Galaxy tab.

With rumours circulating since May this year, we here at PC Site are excited to finally see the Samsung Galaxy Tab hit the shelves. The Galaxy Tab was released on Monday 1st November and looks set to take the tablet market by storm this Christmas.
It runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and sports a very glossy 7 inch full capacitive touch screen as well as 16 Gb of hard-drive storage and a 1 GHz processor. The Galaxy Tab also has two built in cameras and supports Flash 10.1 – this is where it trumps the Apple iPad.
It also has an embedded Financial Times app that lets users download the daily FT for offline reading. The Galaxy Tab also benefits from an exclusive content partnership with WH Smith to give users a great range of eBooks at competitive prices.
Those of you who like your games will be pleased to hear that Gameloft has partnered with Samsung to develop a range of games specifically for the Galaxy Tab. Two great games come embedded on the tablet upon purchase; the ‘shoot-em-up’ N.O.V.A. (Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance) and Asphalt 5 racing game.
Samsung also says that you can get 7 hours of video play out if its tablet device, making it an impressive multimedia machine.
You can purchase yours now for around £600 – I know what’s on the top of my Christmas list!
