Samsung to block iPhone 5 sales in Europe?

Apple fans, you better sit down for this – he Apple iPhone 5 could be banned in Europe
Samsung Electronics is thinking about taking legal action to block sales of the Apple iPhone 5 in a country yet to be decided on, according to reports. The patent battle between the two technology giants has been heating up over the last few weeks, and a move to block the hotly anticipated new smartphone from Apple, due next month, would add to the tension.
The Financial Times quoted a source close to Samsung as saying: “The market’s speculation that Samsung is preparing a legal action to block sales of the iPhone 5 is largely true.” It is not yet clear which country could be the site of such a block, but rumours suggest it will be either Europe or South Korea.
Samsung’s case for blocking the iPhone 5 would rest on the patents related to wireless communication standards, which they hold and believe to be used in Apple’s smartphones.
Earlier this month, Apple forced Samsung to withdraw its Galaxy tab from German stores, also on patent infringement grounds. The iPhone was banned in South Korea for several months in 2009.
