New Sony Vaio F Series goes on sale in UK
John Hillman gets overexcited about the arrival of a Sony’s new super- fast F Series, designed for media fanatics.
If, like me, you are one of those people who find Sony Vaio PCs just too irresistible for words then you will be salivating at the arrival of the F Series. I’m guessing that the F stands for “face-meltingly-quick”.
Sony has built up an enviable reputation for its Vaio laptops; on the whole they look good and perform superbly. They are the kind of machines that inspire customer loyalty in the same way that a Porsche or an Audi does for motorists. They just feel right.
What’s really exciting about the F Series is the sheer performance capability. The top end model, the F (X), is an entertainment centre with immensely powerful video editing, gaming and Blu-ray writing and playback capabilities.
You get a 16.4 inch High-Def display with expansive 1,920×1,080-pixel resolutions, perfect for movies and gameplay, and it is all supported by a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card. Performance is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU with a pretty ludicrous 8GB of RAM.
We’ll be reviewing the Sony Vaio F in the reviews section of this site. So have a read through that for a full run down of all the goodies, but for me this stacks up as pretty much the perfect laptop. Well made, sleek good looks and more fun than naked night surfing in Hawaii.
