Toshiba Qosmio F755 3D
Toshiba have announced their first glasses free 3D laptop, the Qosmio F755. This laptop’s 15.6 inch screen can display 3D and 2D images at the same time, its set for release mid-August.
Carl Pinto, vice president of product development said “We are excited to bring this cutting-edge technology to consumers, as there’s really nothing like it.”
Developments in auto-stereoscopic display technology have allowed 3D users to do away with glasses, you get a significantly lower resolution but the melding of fore and background is seamless. The Qosmio has an integrated webcam which uses Face Tracking technology; it can be used for security purposes as well as video chats, this technology has plenty of space to develop if you look at the ground made with Microsoft’s Kinect, a 3D webcam capability could lead to very innovative interactions between man and machine.
2D and 3D content is optional so you’ll still be able to play standard DVDs; the Qosmio also comes with a blu-ray so it is a worthy investment in future technology. This laptop won’t be coming cheap but it does have some of the best components currently available, including an Intel i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce 540M GPU and up to 750GB hard drive. This laptop could handle intensive applications and would make an excellent entertainment machine, Dolby Waves Audio provide a cinema experience and the Qosmio would make an excellent system for gaming on.
