"The core components of the Acer Aspire 5755G are astounding."

The Acer Aspire 5755G is the most up to date Acer Aspire model and continues the manufacturer’s tradition of producing all-round laptops at an affordable price. If you don’t wish to break the bank with your new laptop but demand high performance, this machine is worth (careful) consideration.
What we like best
The core components of the Acer Aspire 5755G are astounding. You get a quad core Intel i7 processor, paired with 750 GB storage and 8GB RAM. Processing power and memory at such high levels are rarely found together at so low a price.
Acer have also thrown in a dedicated graphics card, the nVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, which provides its own 2 GB video memory and will let you run even the most demanding of games.
The Acer Aspire 5755G is a comfortable computer too. It has a 15.6 inch screen and a keyboard that was designed with great care. It’s spacious, fully sized and includes a numeric pad. Our only issue with it was the reduced size of the function keys, which are fiddly at best and, at worst, impossible to hit at great speed.
It has a healthy selection of ports, including an USB 3.0. This laptop has an optic drive too and although it doesn’t have the best screen in the world, it can definitely play a DVD to a satisfactory standard. We’re sorry to see it lacks Blu-ray capabilities, but with the power of its core you can certainly output HDMI to a full HD screen without any trouble so you can make the most of the graphics card if you so wish.
What we like least
The Acer Aspire 5755G is not one of the most beautiful laptops we’ve ever seen, but it’s unassuming gunmental chassis is not without charm. There is a bit of flex in the machine so if ‘bendy’ isn’t your thing when it comes to hardware you should probably shop about.
This computer would have made an excellent entertainment machine if it had had dedicated multimedia controls. Instead it relies on the function keys for things like changing volume which is an effort you should not have to extend when watching a movie or listening to music.
We weren’t fans of the touchpad either, with its lack of responsiveness and the resulting delay in productivity. It works, just in an unwieldy way that will fast irritate you
The Acer Aspire 5755G represents very good value for money. The only real downside is its noncommittal looks. Vanity and this laptop will not be a good match, but the Acer Aspire 5755G has everything else you could desire of a computer in this price range. You don’t often find specs like these grouped together without getting a nasty shock when you look at the price tag.

"It's very poweful and speedy. I like the fact that I can have loads of stuff runnin at the same time and it doesnt seem to slow down. Looks good too. Very happy with it really, compared to what you get from Dell and HP for this price its good value. "
