"You can equip the Acer Predator G5910 with a Blu-ray drive to add a video playback dimension to what is ultimately a gaming computer"
Matthias Scherer
The Acer Predator G5910 desktop is, let’s be honest here, a big toy. Or, more specifically, a computer on which you play games. Targeted at gamers, this device is brimming with hard drive storage and processing power, but does it do anything other than let you play CoD?
What we like best
The Acer Predator G5910’s design is likely to either induce fits of giggles or genuine excitement. Orange stripes run down the shiny desktop’s front to make it look like a cross between Judge Dredd’s mask and a plastic tiger. The sides are kept matte and without frills, which, depending on point of view, either balances out the slightly garish front or makes the whole thing lopsided. We think it looks kind of cool.
You can equip the Acer Predator G5910 with a Blu-ray drive to add a video playback dimension to what is ultimately a gaming computer. With the right monitor, you can go one step further and add 3D to this bad boy, which will make first-person shooters even more intense.
Along with copious amounts of computer games, you will also be able to store your film and music collection comfortably: with the G5910’s four SATA hard disk drives (which each store up to 2TB of data), you’ll be unlikely to run out of storage quickly.
What we like least
For a computer so capably stocked in certain areas, the omission of USB 3.0 ports is pretty unforgivable. Everything else about the Predator G5910 screams speed and power, yet there are no fast data transfer options.
Another trick has been missed with the graphics card options, which don’t include NVIDIA’s latest, most advanced offering, the GTX 590.
The Acer Predator G5910 is without doubt a very capable gaming desktop – it has the storage space, the graphics and the CPU options to support the latest games, and with the right keyboard and monitor choices you’ll probably end up with a computer that your friends will come round to see. The Blu-ray drive option is a nice touch and means that you could, if you want, turn this into an all-round entertainment centre. As good a gaming computer as any that's out there right now.

The Acer Predator G5910 is a very impressive gaming desktop that, along with the right keyboard and monitor options, could be transformed into a genuine all-round entertainment centre. For example, you can add a Blu-ray disk drive to it.
Its design might split the masses, but the fact remains that in terms of sheer processing power, graphics and hard drive storage, few desktops out there equal the Acer Predator G5910.
