"The screen is outstanding. It has up to date 3D technology which is something you must experience if you have reservations about 3D gaming."

Another fantastic gaming notebook from ASUS. The G-Series continues to offer one of the highest quality gaming experiences available at a moderate price. The casing design has been changed from the alien to a clawed look which gives the machine a little panache.
Cosmetics aside the G51J comes with all the best features seen in its predecessors, containing high a quality graphics card and a top of the line Intel Core i7 processor.
What we like best
Quality of display is important for any gaming machine, the A1 comes with and exceptional glossy finish 1,920 x 1,080 LED backlit, 15.6” screen that is premium in all aspects except for side viewing angles, but if you’re the one gaming, the view is outstanding. It has up to date 3D technology which is something you must experience if you have reservations about 3D gaming.
Lag will soon be a thing of the past with the systems DDR3 1066 MHz memory offering a huge bandwidth capability.
Running with the latest NVIDIA GeForce 1024 Mb GTS 360 M with GDDR5 means the A1 Laptop offers an elite gaming experience graphically, that can continue late into the night with the light sensitive auto-brightness adjustment controls.
What we like least
It can run cool and quiet when under minimal usage, but as soon as a stressful app or demanding game begins, the fan knocks up a gear and the temperature rises quickly. This isn’t really too much of an issue if you have a gaming station set up but is an issue for lap use.
The premium processor and graphics card take their toll on the battery too, there’s only around 90 minutes of video viewing time before it needs a recharge.
A simply astounding machine, capable of keeping gaming officianados appeased with its high power system and Windows 7 premiuim package. The top of the range specs including the capability of 3D gaming makes it a machine that will be functioning amongst the best gaming computers for years yet to come.
