"The Latitude Z offers a unique and innovative wireless charging system that has never before been offered by major computer companies."
John Hillman
The Dell Latitude Z is a machine designed for the dedicated professional. The degree of design work that has gone in to creating one of the leanest (14.5 mm thick) and lightest (2.01Kg) laptops in the world, in addition to the various optional extras, fully justify the price of this system.
The Latitude Z runs an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, ensuring optimal energy usage, an enhanced performance for multitasking, use of data bandwidth and an accelerated range of media applications.
To top it off, the Latitude Z offers a unique and innovative wireless charging system that has never before been offered by major computer companies.
What I like best
The wireless charging stand is the latest optional extra of the Dell line; it clears up office space bringing in the air of a wireless age.
Too long have reams of tangled power cords obstructed desk space and tripped the unwary passer-by, those days are coming to an end.
The two-tier stand may at first seem bulky, contrasted with the sleek and stylish Latitude Z, however, like the computer itself it is expertly designed and manufactured. The stand is constructed of heat dispersing aluminium, there’s plenty of space underneath for external drives and equipment, and built in fans regulate the temperature to prevent overheating.
You are also sure to be impressed by the strong security features available with the Latitude Z, such as the EdgeTouch sensor which provides a fingerprint analysis and an integrated autofocus webcam, which implements FaceAware Lockout software, automated to lock the computer unless the camera has focus on yourself or co-workers permitted via the collaborative mode.
What I like least
There are however, minor inconveniences, the lack of an Ethernet cable port may cause some problems to offices without Wi-Fi, and although an SD reader can be attached, it would really have been nicer to see one readily installed.
Video review
These issues are a quite small in light of the sophisticated presence of the Latitude Z; it is a machine designed for both the executive office and for work on the go. It's sharp, eye-catching design and the easy allure of the chrome brushed mahogany casing, just completes the experience of using this system.
