"Our favourite feature has to be the biometric security, if you require added data protection a fingerprint reader and face recognition tool can be implemented."
Karim Beerahee
These two laptops are closely related, the major difference between them being that the 4525s has a greater range of processors and storage capabilities available.
These attributes can offer a very different performance if you wish to upgrade, other than that you will be hard pressed to tell the two apart without taking note of the ports.
What we like best
The ProBook Series has been very well designed; they are lighter than their competitors and more stylishly designed than your average business notebook, coming in two colours caviar and bordeaux.
The 4525 comes with a decent anti-glare screen, which is comfortable for extended use both indoors and outdoors. The hardware components of both machines are good by all standards. Although ProBooks are designed for professional use, these notebooks can be used as everyday machines, functioning effectively during daily tasks.
Our favourite feature has to be the biometric security. If you require added data protection a fingerprint reader and face recognition tool can be implemented.
What we like least
The screen on the 4520s is not quite so bright which can make video playback a little dim.
The touchpad has received numerous complaints although a free update does rectifies the problem.
Battery power is also something that is to be desired. Unless you get the 9-cell battery, a single charge will not last long after 60 minutes during strenuous computing; even on a light day around 3 hours surfing time will be your maximum which is unremarkable for a business machine.
The business features of these ProBooks work in harmony with the mainstream components inside. They allow the machine to run like your average consumer laptop rather than just a specialised business tool. The high quality processors and strong security defence features will make it a valued tool and despite the darkness issues with the 4520s its DVD/Blu-ray quality is fine. The ProBooks are the more affordable versions of HP’s EliteBook Series, with good usability and better functionality.
