"The HP protect tools caters for maximum security with file and document shredding featured, the hardware is also secure through six-axis accelerometer"

The ProBook 5310M is available in five different configurations. It is one of the heavier ultraportables weighing in at 1.8 Kg which is still perfectly adequate for work on the go.
It is not generally designed for your average consumer; the 5310M is a machine meant for high-end business computing, through processor, GPU, battery life and connectivity this laptop offers highly efficient functionality and managability.
What we like best
HP has abandoned the optical drive in favour of adding more ports which for an ultraportable is wise sacrifice.
Having additional ports allows you to attach a CD drive as desired without weighing you down the rest of the time.
The HP protect tool caters for maximum security with a file and document shredding feature and the hardware is also secure through six-axis accelerometer which protects the hard drive from knocks.
What we like least
It is a business laptop so the lack of multimedia features is understandable, however, having dedicated volume or brightness controls can come in handy.
You get little extra for the added weight, so if lightness is really what you are looking for and you don’t require heightened processing power, this may not be the laptop for you.
The design is reminiscent of the 2007 MacBook (which to some may be an ill omen) but other then that, the black casing aluminium/magnesium alloy cannot be faulted. It does blend in a little too easily with the touchpad which is rather textureless and doesn’t feel as sensitive as you would expect.
Ultraportables are desirable for use during a commute, at the office and domestically. The 5310 delivers on most accounts, though the lack of an optical drive along with the weight may be a deal breaker for some. It will get most through a business day on battery alone. For an ultraportable the 5310 is a fine and dependable optional with appropriate power, memory and function.

HP ProBook 5310M, this is one of the heavier ultraportables weighing in at 1.7Kg it is almost hefty in comparison to the lightweight netbooks cousin to this style of computer. HP ProBook 5310M has abandoned the optical drive which may be a problem for some but with new and improved data streaming techniques there is very little reason to require a CD unless you want to play music or games or watch DVDs.
HP ProBook 5310M

HP ProBook 5310M is a more high-end business computer, the ultraportable category means you don’t quite get the power you’d find on a desktop or desktop replacement, some of the heavier components are unavailable on a HP ProBook 5310M but this all serves in the grand scheme of things to bring you a lightweight machine.
