"The adjustable screen is one of the major features of the X Series allowing the screen to pivot for shared access and transform in to a handheld tablet."
Karim Beerahee
The Lenovo ThinkPad X Series ultraportable line are top of the range laptops. They come with i7 processors for ultimate processing power and energy efficiency. The X Series uses this added power to manage cooling systems that run both effectively and quietly.
The X201s also comes with an touchpoint trackpad option previously seen other ThinkPad’s, though the touch point is still remarkably useful for touch typists that wish to keep their fingers on the home row.
What we like best
The svelte look has Lenovo’s assurances of being military tested against most kinds of damage. It can suitably replace your desktop at home as it is capable of running DVDs well, despite the lack of HDMI, and is also powerful enough to play computer games as it is graphically well equipped.
The X201s comes with a 9-cell battery that keeps the laptop powered for a good 8+ hours and it also comes with an internal roll cage to provide some shock absorption, minimising the risk of damage to the machines components.
The adjustable screen is one of the major features of the X Series allowing the screen to pivot for shared access and transform in to a handheld tablet. This feature is well implemented and does not betray the structural integrity of the system in the slightest.
What we like least
The lack of a HDMI port is quite a let-down. The minor faults with this system, such as the poor quality speakers, are tiny irritations when considering the high functionality of the system.
As an ultraportable, weight and size have been key in the design process for this system. It cannot be faulted in terms of lightness, compactability, and ease of portability. It is a comprehensive system with only a few minor issues such as the lack of HDMI and lower quality speakers, but overall it's a brilliant buy!
