"The dedicated and integrated graphics cards allow the T Series to function with greater energy efficiency, making the ThinkPad a very green notebook."
Karim Beerahee
The ThinkPad range are traditionally very executive notebooks and the T Series has not strayed from that formula.
The T410 and T410s are ‘high-end’ in terms of processor and graphics chips, they are suitable for the most stressful applications and run for exceptionally long periods of time.
What we like best
The dedicated and integrated graphics cards allow the T Series to function with greater energy efficiency, making the ThinkPad a very green notebook.
The SimpleTap feature opens an overlay that gives you the ability to control speaker muting, access webcam and lock the screen on to the sign on screen. The T Series also comes with a classic keyboard design which has next to no flex, reduced gaps to avoid dust collection and to top it off a very satisfying click!
One feature that is particularly convenient is the addition of a light that illuminates the keyboard to assist working in dim lighting such as on planes or late train journeys.
They also have surprisingly good speakers for a business laptop which in combination with the improved display means these ThinkPads are Ideal for conference calling (VoIP) and group presentations.
What we like least
The T410 has a fairly small hard drive for a business laptop, with just 250 Gb. This can be expanded, but if it is your intention to use this machine as your main computer you may soon run low on space.
The T410s fan system has been designed with blades based upon owl wings, this adjustment has made them quieter, but the sound that does come out is high pitch rather than the customary low whirr, and so may be cause for complaint.
These new systems are definite developments on the older models. The T410s found solutions to the minor issues in structure, such as over-flex in the keyboard, that may have previously put buyers off. These machines are ideal for business and can provide after hours entertainment as well as be used for extended periods of time on when on commute.
