Samsung Series 3-350U review

Samsung are no strangers to the ultrabook market, they now have 4 different series in available the Series 9, 7, 5 and 3. The Samsung Series 3-350u adheres strictly to the ultrabook ideal; this model has a 12.5 inch screen and weighs 1.4 Kg on the dot. But what separates it from the rest?

What we like best

The main reason why you should be interested in the Samsung Series 3-350U is that it packs a chunky 640 GB hard drive. This is something we haven’t seen on other ultrabooks which are managing to keep things skinny with a 128 Gb SSD instead. We were impressed that this was possible with a laptop that measures just 26mm in thickness.
Samsung have managed to keep the screen a healthy size without adding to the weight by reducing the size of tis bezel. The HD LED screen is crisp even in direct sunlight, so you’ll be able to work no matter the location. It has a matt surface which allows bold colours to show through with little to no mirror effect.

The Samsung Series 3-350U is highly energy efficient. It is built with PowerPlus technology which means a longer lasting battery that doesn’t drain so fast, this is put to good use with an Intel i3 processor. This model of computer core has been built with energy conservation in mind so you’ll be able to get lots done away from the mains with the Samsung Series 3-350U.

Similar to what we saw on netbooks Samsung have brought back FastStart. This feature allows you to put your Series 3-350U in a light form of sleep mode, which will hardly dent the battery and let you resume work in the flash of an eye.

It also has an HD webcam built in which is, you know, nice.

What we like least

You may have seen pictures of this ultrabook in multiple colours with a nice smiling lady, but unfortunately it’s only going to available in black for the time being. If a shocking pink ultrabook is what you are after you may have to pay for additional shipping.
